Mortise Lock Installation

Mortise Lock are one of the most common types of locks on entryways to businesses.

They are found screwed onto mortise mechanisms which are usually inside of commercial glass doors. When you put the key in the cylinder of one of these locks and turns it this makes a tail piece on the end of the lock turn as well.

This tailpiece then hits a mechanism which gets the latch pop out which is what turns the door

Rim Cylinder lock Installation

A rim cylinder is a lock that is most commonly found when working with crash or push bars. So think about certain double doors to restaurants, back doors, and emergency exit doors. If you have one of these doors it is likely that you have a crash bar in your business and that this crash bar has a rim cylinder working with it.

A rim cylinder is different from a long tail piece and is held in place differently than a mortise lock usually is. All of our technicians are familiar with different types of locks and how to work with them.

If you need a rim cylinder lock installed in the salt lake area don’t hesitate getting in touch with us.

Fresh Mortise Mechanism installation

A mortise mechanism is the mechanism that makes the mortise lock work. It is where the mortise lock is screwed onto. Think about it like the latch on a deadbolt of a residential door.

The latch being pushed out is what makes the door actually lock, and the lock spinning the latch is what makes that possible. If you have a commercial glass door that you want a mortise lock added to for additional security, consider calling us for more information.

We can perform fresh installations of mortise mechanisms and help your business stay more secure.

Fired employee lock installation

Have you ever been in a situation where you have had to let an employee go? Many business owners face this problem and sometimes you might be worried about your previous employee still having access to your place of business. You may have given your employee keys and are not sure if they were able to make copies of them and if they gave you back all of those keys. Our business lock re-key service may come in handy if you aren’t looking to replace all of your locks.

Restricted Keyway Lock installation

Have you ever been in a situation where you have had to let an employee go? Many business owners face this problem and sometimes you might be worried about your previous employee still having access to your place of business. You may have given your employee keys and are not sure if they were able to make copies of them and if they gave you back all of those keys.

Do not Duplicate Keys

A restricted keyway is one that can not be duplicated at your local hardware store. There are many different types of ways to achieve restricted keyways with locks. The most common way to achieve this is by providing people with keyways that are common, but instead of giving them normal keys, giving them keys that say do not duplicate on them. This is probably not the best solution because if your employee went to a hardware store and find another employee there who was willing to bend the rules, they could still get a key duplicated for that lock.

Rare Keyway Lock Installation

Another way to achieve the restricted keyway is by installing keyways that are much less common. Your employee wouldn’t be able to go to their local hardware store and be able to have the key to your business duplicated. They would instead have to go to their local locksmith, and there is a good chance that this locksmith wouldn’t even have this key blank installed and it would need to be ordered in. You can combine this with a do not duplicate stamp on your keys to make it nearly impossible for your employees to duplicate the keys to your place of business.
